Too often, we go through our day without realizing what we mean to others.

Let me tell you a story... 2 years ago I was working two jobs and life was looking pretty good. I had to have a routine colonoscopy in preparation for a surgery I was to have. Nothing major, just routine. During the colonoscopy, my spleen was ruptured. They stopped the procedure and did not recognize what had happened. I was in the recovery area bleeding into my stomach. They called in my husband and told him to take me home. To make a long story short, my husband knew something was wrong and did not take me home, but insisted they do something to help with the pain I was in. Six hours later, they took me to emergency and found that, by that time, I had kidney failure, liver failure, lost 80% of my blood and my heart was pumping "on dry". That led to a heart attack and heart muscle damage. I was in a coma for 2 weeks, in the hospital for over three weeks and in a nursing home for four weeks to learn to walk and function again, as all my muscles had atrophied. Needless to say, my life is much different now.

The two jobs are gone... I have congestive heart failure... My monthy income now covers a little over half of my medication... BUT... I still have a dream.

Here's where you all come in. You may think that you are just providing a place for people to gamble. That is where you would be wrong. For people like me, you provide so much more. You provide a dream. I can't spend much here each month any more, but the little I do spend keeps that dream alive. Each time I pull the handle on a slot machine, I dream of hitting the jackpot. That jackpot would provide enough money to pay for all my medication (now, I cut my pills in half) and allow me to contribute to the food bank to help those less fortunate than I.
